A to Z of Lap Dog Breeds

A lapdog or lap dog is described as ” a dog that is small enough to be held in your arms or sit comfortably on your lap”. The obvious problem here is that people come in different sizes, so what is suitable for an elderly person may not be suitable for your common all weightlifter lol.

Just because you love your dog on your lap does not mean that it’s a Lap Dog, Rose here is far too big to sit on Harold’s lap

Lap Dog is simply a generic term for a dog that is small and has a friendly disposition and can be applied to many breeds, here at Top Lap Dogs we consider that a dog that is light of frame and is smaller than 16″ or 40cm high at the withers is a Lap Dog.

Here we have an A to Z list of Lap Dogs for more detail on any breed if it is underlined in blue then simply click on the name to open a descriptive page on the breed you wish to know more about (some we are still working on).
